Another Folder making question?

Ok all of you folder makers out there in Knife Dog land.

I have a few Damascus blades for my folder project and I want to mask off the pivot area before etching the Damascus blades. So, Finger nail Polish was the first resist & remover I thought of to use?
Easy to put on and easy to take off, plus my wife has plenty of both polish & remover around.

Any reasons why this wouldn't work? Anything else that you think works better? I don't want to ruin the Damascus blades and want a smooth clean pivot area for the washers etc to ride on.
I will be using plain old Apple vinegar for etching the blades.

Thanks.
Laurence

That's how I've always done it. Works great. Pick a color your wife doesn't like though, or the bottle will never be where you left it when you look for it.

I always buy some gaudy color like Blaze orange so you can see where you have applied it, and I always let dry and apply 2 coats. Think you will like it!

God Bless
Mike
