Boot knife

This is a nice 4" boot knife I did awhile ago. The blade is a "flat grind" though the entire knife was made only using hacksaw to cut out the profile and files to do everything else. Even the hole in the hidden tang was done with an old hank crank drill. I did cheat and use the buff for polishing:eek:

It was a challenge from a mate who said he couldn't make a knife as he didn't have any equipment, like belt grinders, drill press, etc. So, I showed him how it could be done without them.

01 tool steel, Rc 56/58, 4" X 1" X 3/16th". The handle is a very nice piece of yellow Mallee Burl. Brass guard with black/red liners.

Great knife Terry! Can't believe you didn't buff it by hand too.....:D
Nicely done!

Yeah Bruce I know, I let the team down by admitting to using a buff. I should have just shut up about it:D.
