Collaboration with a Five-year old

Here is a blade I made in collaboration with my 5 year old daughter. She asked if I had any knives she could work on so I pulled out an old cracked blade from the scrap bin. I showed her where the crack was and she carefully traced the blade on some paper. I re-annealed the blade and removed the cracked part. Using her design and pieces she selected for the handle we finished the knife. I think she has a great eye for design but then I am her Daddy and a little biased. Enjoy!:)

Nope, no bias there...if she can design that at five, I might want to think about hanging up my tools and taking up basket weaving.

The wife said she has to have a newborne before I can have a five year old. I guess I'll have to wait a few more years before I get one.

Never under estimate the talents of a child.

Dad you'll have to step up to stay ahead of her if she gets into the trade. Do we have a new knifemaker in the future?
