Grinder set up

After so many years of standing at the grinder, I decided to set up my new KMG to where I can sit in a chair (my aching knees). The CL of the contact wheel axle is 31" from the floor. I am liking this pretty well. It is easier to lean over to see to line up contours when shaping handles while holding the knife up and down.

It seems most prefer to stand. What do you think?

There is a lot of guys that grind sitting down. Not a thing wrong with it.

I learned to grind sitting down, I grind standing though now....

But I been thinking about going back as of late, old age and all..... ;)

Bless my father in laws heart. He is building my bench so I can sit on a stool so there is less pressure on my knees.

Hay, Les.
When you get it figuerd out and confi. let us see.I have worn out plastic in my knees that supposed to have been changed in '92.
I do all the sitting that I can

I grind sitting often. I also regularly forge sitting on a firm barstool. I either just slightly park my butt on the stool edge ,with my feet on the ground, or fully sit on it and brace my feet on the anvil stand base. Take a close look at my avatar, and you will see that is what I am doing.

I'v tried it and don't seem to be able to grind the way I would like to. Setting down would be nice at 70 years old.
