Hammer In 2013 updates!

I'll tell you all; I had a great time working in the hot pit with all the folks and look forward to next year any one wanting to go to next years hammer in get with one of the USA Knife Makers Supply staff. Thanks to every one for a great weekend

reminder...
next years is scheduled Sept 12, 13, 14 for 2014

Cost is $45. This fee ends up covering most, but not all of the instructors fees and travel expenses. USAknifemaker.com covers the rest.

You get a light supper Friday night and Saturday Lunch. You also get a 15% discount on any items purchased that weekend.

It will be limited to 30 people max... and I am positive we will fill it up early with the agenda we have planned. We already have 8 reservations on the books..22 spots left. Your non-refundable deposit holds your spot, not a "I'm coming!" message.

We will have RB Johnson teaching liner locks, Peter Martin teaching Damascus bar and canister (I think), Kieth Johnson on slippies, Jim Poling will be showing forging and making an old fashioned friction folder.
We are still looking for an experienced leather instructor...

We start with a meet/greet/arrival from 3 to 6pm Friday night, a light supper at 6 and then a short "class" at 7 to 9:30 or so. Maybe a beer or two earlier that evening if you aren't operating any equipment or forging. Certainly a beer or soda pop after "class" is done that evening.
Saturday is full blast from 8:30 to 6pm
Sunday is half blast from 8:30 to 1pm

These are pure madness with so much going on, you will not catch all the activities going on.
You can try but it won't happen. We are stepping it up quite a bit for the next one.

8:30ish, maybe 9
we have good intentions for 8:30 anyway..

Well done video Boss.
Looks like you fellas did have a good time. Janik called and said it was the best one yet and next year is going to be even better with a good line up of demonstrators.

I had such a good time at the hammer in, I came home and have been forging every day since. Nothing motivates like a gathering of knife enthusiasts beating and grinding steel. Thanks to Tracey and his crew for putting on a really nice event, I can't wait until next years!

Peter

next week I start back working on my half finished 20ton press so we have that next year. Then I start looking for a small air hammer that we can move around. We will be pressing and banging next year.
