Boss dog thank you for your comments on the dagger, unfortunately it not not a true ivory handle (I wish) but it also included my first Nickel silver sheath which turned out pretty good

Thanks meno Forgot to include the sheath on the last post.http://knifedogs.com/images/attach/jpg.gif

It appeared to be alternate ivory and. Should have said that in the first place. I don't think that takes away from it at all. The nickel metal sheath might have been tougher to make than the knife?

Eric the sheath is made from nickel silver sheet, its made in 2 parts. each side is formed over a mandrel the same size as the blade. the two sides are then silver solder together.

Meno,
Very cool dagger, Handle & Sheath.
I prefer alternative Ivory because of ethical questions if it's been POACHED!

I know the elephants do die etc, but I feel we have a duty as stewards to help these magnificent animals not be slaughtered just for the Tusks. At this rate there will only be elephants & rhinos in zoos in less than Twenty years.

My wife & I recently foster a orphaned Rhinoceros being my brand name sake. I want these animals to thrive! Not have them killed just for their horns so some Arab can have a rhino horn handled Dagger or someone in China can drink their horn in tea thinking that it will make them last all night!
If any are interested this organization is doing great work saving orphaned Elephants & Rhinos and returning them to wild areas when possible.

Laurence Watched a program last night about the poaching of elephants.
An Aussie ex commando( special forces) is working on getting some drones up and running to track poachers, great idea.
