My good friend Dana Hackney just emailed me this pic of his latest venture. What do ya think?

I keep pestering my local steak house to get some real steak knives.

They actually have a display at the maitre d's desk proudly proclaiming the wonders of their truly awful, serrated, never been sharpened, go through the dishwasher several times a day, blunt-objects-pretending-to-be-cutlery pieces of junk.

These would do fine.

It sounds like you need to bring your own steak knife when dining there. I sure like these Dana made. I think he has made 24 so far. Look at that book matched Koa wood case!

Thanks....

Darrin, J., Gabe and Bruce for the compliments :D

These knives are going to a family that just recently purchased a house on Maui,
hence the reason for the koa :). A good friend at work who also works on musical
instruments, purchased the koa from a guy who sells guitar backs, and made four
of these boxes (2 big and 2 small). I think it really adds to the package. I think the
box looks better than its contents:eek:

Thanks, again, guys!

Dana, That is a nice package. The new owners should be very proud to show these off. Maybe they will invite me over for a steak. :)

Thanks Bruce for posting pics of these.

Thanks Denton and Larry!

for the compliments. The more I work with this koa the more I like it....other than
the welts I get when sanding it for an extended amount of time :bud:
