"Tortuga" pictoral progression

I found these pictures on my photobucket and thought it would be fun to put them together in a running progression thread. I had most of them on bladeforums back when this gun/dagger was being built but that thread is long buried there.

It starts after the main frame and blade is already forged from 52100 steel. The caliber is .25 and has a 12" dagger blade. The top guard is the hammer and the bottom guard is the trigger. The grips are pre-ban ivory and checkered by a good friend of mine. The engraving is by Jere Davidson.

Lets get started

Is that an old Browning bow hanging over the doors? Looks like either a Browning or a Bear.

Haha! No Bruce!
I Don't believe in what I saw in this sharing. Hmmm I must go to the shopping or somewhere else... to calm down.

I never did weigh it. Its pretty solid because of all the steel. I wasnt trying to save weight besides I charge by the pound. :D

...fair warning...I'm going to ask the same question about all your pistol builds from now on.

How about the balance point on this one?
where did it balance?

Yep thats David Lisch. That photo was taken in 2008 at Josh's hammerin. There was allot of lead flying that day. You're right Dave is a good guy and handy with a hammer too.

Hi Fletch, its a Martin Bobcat I built from a kit several years ago. Its long since retired and full of memories of game that got away. :D
I replaced it with a Martin Razor. Its an awesome bow.

Really a great thread to read. And answers one question - does anyone ever shoot these beautiful works of art?

hello there That 'Pictorial" was outstanding, I'm saving it for future reference......Thanks for sharing the art! Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and Family!

Bruce, I've been looking for the "Hoe" thread. All I've been able to find is this Tortuga thing. :D You did a pretty nice job on that!
