What's going on in your shop?

I may not have entirely given up on limited production knives....as evidenced by my new chandelier.....View attachment 62000
I need to space it down a bit but this will be for cooling air-hardening steels. The fan is an automotive radiator fan. I'll post a pic when it is further along...

Here's the air set-up. It does not blow on the blades but move a column of air up the middle.I might make an inverted cone to blow on the blades themselves. The fan is 3000 cfm and moves a bunch of air. because it is hitting the hub/spokes the air does turn the rim...not sure if that is a plus or minus yet.

Good eye! It is.

There's also Koa, Macadamia, Ironwood, and Maple Burl.
Each wood choice there is amazing! I have a love for claro and curly maple so I gravitate towards those. I have some huge stock blanks out of old Claro...still not a good enough maker to cut into them...lol. Someday..

For the Macadamia and Koa, they will get 10-15 coats of Tru-Oil. The ironwood to 1200 grit, then a light buff, and waxed. The lone maple burl is stabilized, so it's easy.....take it to 600-800, buff with pink no-scratch, and a coat of wax.
I'm only at the third coat of Tru-oil, so there'e at least a couple more days to get them where I wanna be.

Halfway from each side?(through each piece from outside direction) Else how do you get the "lock"?

I've been working on handle designs (for probably too long). This one I like...it's dainty where you need to choke up for fine work and still meaty enough at the end to feel more substantial than a small pen knife. It has a subtle concave from end to end which I think looks nice but not too thrilled on how much "fun" grinding in the mosaics are...
Blade is unhardened/unsharp...needed to see handle on metal...lol.
Once again sorry for photo quality...
