Starting work on a "Camp knife"

Tapering the tang is pretty easy, just mark scribe lines around the handle. I find a lot of people like the thickness of the non tapered tang though. I would personally taper. I think it's easier to balance the knife tapering than drilling holes. I would also do a full flat grind or at least...

    Kbac27d dvd ?

I have the kbac27d vfd with the on off switch. Is the Orange and green power/status lights supposed to remain on when the switch is in the off position? I also have a 1725 leeson with a 4" pulley and 3" on the grinder. Full speed is pretty slow. My pots are set up the same as Beaumont's...

    ? about VFC campatibility

Ok thanks. I already have the VFD, so i'll look at a different motor. I was thinking this one but sounds like i would be safer getting a smaller motor.: http://www.amazon.com/MOTOR-1725RPM-...+3+phase+motor

    ? about VFC campatibility

I'll be using 120v. My understanding is with a 2hp motor using 120v it will only be 1.5hp. I am in the process of rewiring my shop now. I guess i could use a 220v dedicated circuit for the grinder. I'm fine with 1.5hp. Is that not the same drive beumont (KMG) sales?

    platen chiller

Thanks Ed. Thats good to hear. I have a ceramic plate on my platen now but was just wondering. I guess thats why all the info on the chillers are outdated. One less thing to buy. I would probably be fine if i can learn to change my belts more often, I'm just so cheap even though i know better.

    Milling machine for folders?

I plan on doing 3-6 folders a month and am looking for opinions on milling machines. First off, would it be worth getting one for 3-6 folders a month. Second; being price and space are a concern, would the bench top models from say harbor freight worth it. I have a little unimat with mill...

Belt wobble and how to corect it.

I have the same issue with Blaze orange, cork, cubitron and others. Some belts run smooth some wobble. I can have a blaze belt wobble and then another blaze same grit run smooth. The flat platon seems to wobble more than my wheel. Could be a storage issue or humidity like Bladegrinder said, I to...
