Around 2:00 PM we set up the forging tents just outside of the warehouse here at Midwest Knifemakers Supply. Shortly after that guys started filtering in.

Here are a few pictures of whats happening now. We will be adding a few shots of the events every hour or two throughout the weekend. So check back often to keep up with the action!

What a great time! I can't wait until next year, if you've never been to one of these---this is the one you need to get to. Awesome facility, friendly people and crew and its at a knife making supply house! It doesn't get better than this one, thanks for the excellent experience.

Hammerin Tanto

Here is the W-1 blade I clay heat treated and cord wrapped at the hammerin, the outstanding Kydex sheath was made by Steven janik. A big thank you for the guys who helped out with the hand sanding.
All in all I think it turned out very well, I plan on sending it out for professional photography work because my pictures suck, but you get the idea. I had a blast!

Thanks to everyone that attended.
We had a blast and no one got hurt. We got several knives made this year and shared a lot of knowledge. We are going to really do our best to step it up for next year and keep building on what the instructors have done so far.

Huge thank you to Keith Johnson, Roger Cook and Jim Pohling for being our lead instructors again this year. Their patience and enthusiasm for teaching is amazing. Peter Martin jumped in and helped with some heat treating. Our American Hero Steve Janik spent much of Saturday afternoon showing and making multiple kydex sheaths. Several other stepped up and shared what they had also.
Our lead production guy, Dustin helped a 9 year old girl visitor make a knife. You should have seen how happy she was and how excited she was to take it home and show her dad.

Thanks to all the attendees. It was fantastic having you with us and we look forward to the next one more than you know.

Peter, Nice work on the Tanto. Stevens sheath is a good compliment to it. Cool "Package"

I haven't been close to a computer since I left Tracy's on Sunday. I'm just browsing thru the pictures and remembering what a great time I had. A special thanks to Keith Johnson for his patience and teaching. He helped me so much to understand how to make a slip joint folder. It was great meeting everyone, what a great bunch of people.
Thanks Tracy for putting this event together, and I'm really looking forward to next year's event. What a line-up you have in store, and I hope it all comes together for you.
My only problem is I keep buying more supplies each year, and I've already started to reserve a little extra cash every month.
Thanks again for a great weekend everyone.

He's a short teaser of the weekends events. I plan to have a longer video done soon, with a few interviews and some more shots of what was going on in the shop!
